For the first time, The Opportunity Collective has a returning guest! We are fortunate that it is one with such grace, kindness, and compassion as Kimberly Phinney.
A year ago, Kimberly was getting her community of faithful creatives, The Way Back To Ourselves, rolling. Our communities are “brother and sister” communities. Both communities build on the idea that creatives or creators are better off collaborating than competing with one another.
Since we last talked with Kimberly, she has seen more pain and even more grace in her life. She even wrote a book that she never expected to write! Of Wings and Dirt is a collection of poems chronicling Kimberly’s time going through mental and physical illness.
Kimberly is a wife, mother, teacher, writer, artist, creative coach, and mental health counselor. She is also a dear friend, and I know every member of The Opportunity Collective would love to get to know her.

Opportunities that Kimberly wants to share with you!
Kimberly and The Way Back To Ourselves community are hosting a creative arts retreat called The Cultivate Retreat from June 22-23 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There are only 11 spots left for the in-person retreat, but several spots are left for the virtual ticket. Kimberly also offers writing, editing, and creative coaching services. I can personally vouch for her editing, as she has helped me find my voice on several writing projects.
How can you help Kimberly and The Way Back To Ourselves? I’m glad you asked… Kimberly is looking for help with her podcast production. Like many creatives (myself included), podcast editing is one of the less fun aspects of hosting a podcast. If you are savvy with podcast editing or production, let Kimberly know!
